WIP: Valiant Afghan in Blues

5 rows and then repeat 2-5
A good friend of mine surprised me this week with a quilt. I do not have words  to describe how I feel about that and may dedicate a blog to it in the future. Included in the package, however, were two crochet books! One of them was 50 Ripple Stitches by Darla Sims.

I of course wanted to start trying all of the patterns right away. I was already one ball into a challenge of crocheting using my left hand. What was I to do? Well, I had already proven to myself that I could do it. Anyone who knows me can see this coming...I ripped the entire thing out. After all it was just practice.
Valiant WIP
It was difficult for me to choose one pattern to start with, but I narrowed it down to the Valiant or Gentle Swells. Since I had a variety of blues I opted for the pattern calling for three colors, the Valiant. After two days I have the base rows done and am ready to get busy with it. I will keep you posted on the progress.
Thanks for stopping in to see what I am up to. Subscribe to my blog to get regular updates.
